Hunger is a real problem in McElderry Park, the neighborhood surrounding Amazing Grace.  Many people lack access to regular meals and healthful, natural foods.

Since 2008, the Center for Grace-full Living has housed a food pantry that is open twice weekly.  We are one of the few food pantries in Baltimore that are "client choice," which allows our visitors to decide what they will take home to feed their families.

Through our partnership with the Maryland Food Bank, we can purchase food at a very low cost and provide a variety of items to our clients.  We also regularly participate in the MD Food Bank's produce drop program.  

Fresh fruits and vegetables grown in the Amazing Port Street garden are distributed to our neighbors through the food pantry.  In addition, community members also share food from the Amazing Rose Street garden.

Many members of our community deal with chronic conditions such as diabetes and high  blood pressure. 

It is especially important to provide our children with healthy food and lifestyle choices as they grow.  We run an after school program on Tuesdays (3-4:30) that features gardening, health and wellness elements.
